The Diary of Koinonia
The consistent practice of journaling, hiking, and yoga were some of the coping mechanisms that helped remedy my stressful life experiences. I witnessed how my satisfaction from body modifications and being a serial dater never did enough to fill my cup or heal my wounds. I had to give attention to my inner child and rebuild my self-worth. It was during the process of failure, where I was reminded of the habits that I needed to cherish for a more stable and sustainable lifestyle. As a survivor of child sexual abuse and divorcee, I had the option to repeat the routine that brought me chaos or to evolve into the next best version of me. I aimed to find my purpose and balance, even if it meant reevaluating my relationship to money or social media. Through my positive experiences in therapy to discuss my intergenerational trauma, I've learned to monitor my behaviors and remove what no longer serves me. I am basking in my dream life for my family members that never got to live theirs. We grieve for many different reasons, but, today, I grieve for my past self.
